History and Development

TyrellN6 originated from a hardware synth concept by Amazona that never materialized as hardware. u-he took over the development as a software synth, incorporating many features from its Diva synth engine. Released as freeware, it has been distributed since 2013, with the current 2025 beta featuring improved compatibility and new features.

Platform Compatibility and Requirements

Available for macOS (10.7+), Windows (7+), and Linux (glibc 2.28+), with native Apple Silicon support on macOS. Requires a 1000x600 or larger display, 1GB RAM minimum, and a modern CPU (Intel Nehalem or newer, AMD Bulldozer or newer).

Usage and Licensing

TyrellN6 is a freeware synthesizer requiring a host DAW. It does not require a serial number. Linux versions are beta and supported through user communities.
