Overview
Bloom Palette Object by Excite Audio is a software instrument that merges organic sounds from household objects, machinery, and tuned foley with acoustic instruments and percussion from around the world. It is designed to bring natural and textured sounds into digital music productions, powered by a new sequencer that can trigger both one-shots and loops.
Key Features
- Integration of diverse organic sound sources including musical instruments (Taishogoto, Vibraphone, Upright Bass) and raw textures from everyday items (Velcro, Glass Bottles, Mechanical Ratchets).
- New sequencer capable of arranging complex patterns, rhythms, chord progressions, and complete beats, able to sequence both one-shots and loops.
- Extensive sound manipulation via three effects modules (Noise, Reverb, Speaker) and four macros for modulation (Smooth, Echo, Tape, Width).
- Import capability allowing users to drag and drop up to 112 custom samples to personalize the instrument.
- Tightly synced samples to host BPM with controls for playback direction, speed, pitch, and envelope shaping.
Sound Sources
The instrument includes meticulously recorded samples by professional foley artists and sound designers, such as household foley, mechanical and electrical items, tuned foley, textures and noises, acoustic drums, percussion, and melodic loops.
User Interface and Workflow
Users select sound banks organized in categories and assign samples to 14 sample keys spanning two octaves. The sequencer section allows detailed sequencing with modulation of pitch, volume, filter, and applied effects. The Edit page provides advanced controls for trimming, pitching, crossfading, and envelope shaping of samples.
Technical Details and Compatibility
- Supported on macOS 10.15 or higher (Intel and Apple Silicon) and Windows 7 or higher.
- Available as VST, VST3, AU, AAX plugins, and standalone application.
