Summary
SpaceBlender is an experimental reverb plugin by Soundtoys designed to create unreal and imaginary spatial effects. It allows the user to sculpt shapes, textures, and tones that are otherwise impossible in realistic spaces, inspired by pioneers of ambient music and classic digital reverbs.
Features
- Time control ranging from 100ms to 60 seconds, with tempo-sync mode for rhythmic effects
- Color control to adjust the brightness evolution of the reverb tail, allowing darker or brighter effects over time
- Texture control to shape the character from lush to sparse and repeat-heavy
- Modulation control to add random movement for evolving, watery ambient effects
- Freeze function to feed the output back into itself creating evolving ambient loops
- Interactive XY control and visualizer to morph and shape the reverb envelope in real time
- Algorithmic design inspired by classic reverbs and synths, developed by experienced DSP engineers
- Compatible with major DAWs and plugin formats (AAX Native, VST2, VST3, AU)
Usage
SpaceBlender excels in cinematic sound design and ambient experimentation, as well as adding depth and dimension to vocals, guitars, synths, and other audio sources in everyday music production.
