Simulation software to design, simulate and hear custom internal combustion engines with real-time audio and advanced fluid dynamics

Summary

Engine Simulator is an advanced simulation tool for internal combustion engines that allows users to design, simulate, and listen to their custom-built engines. The simulation is based on realistic fluid dynamics and includes a physically based audio engine for real-time sound production.

Features

  • Engineering-grade fluid simulation used in industry engine modeling, not just visual effects.
  • Comprehensive real-time audio engine capable of simulating spatial effects, jet noise, and exhaust sounds.
  • 3D graphical editor for designing engine components such as cylinders, exhaust parts, collectors, and mufflers.
  • Ability to modify engine layouts and settings in real-time and hear the results immediately.
  • Audio exporter for rendering high-quality audio loops usable in game development with traditional engine audio systems.

Development Status

Engine Simulator is currently under development, with a prototype first shown on YouTube in 2022. The release date is still pending.

System Requirements

Minimum requirements specify Windows 10, Intel Core i7-8700k processor, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card. A modern, fast CPU is necessary for correct operation due to the simulation's complexity.

Platforms and Availability

The simulator is available through Steam for Windows PCs, with support for English language interface and audio.
