Summary
GForce MAP is a virtual synthesizer inspired by 1970s West Coast modular synthesis, combining vintage experimental spirit with modern technology. It offers three unique oscillators, dual filters, complex modulation, generative arpeggiator, and built-in effects for sound design and performance.
Features
- Triple Oscillator Configuration featuring waveshaping and frequency modulation, embodying West Coast synthesis principles
- Dual filters: a five-band resonant EQ and a multimode filter, usable in series or parallel with presets
- Intuitive modulation system with three looping envelopes, three drawable LFOs, MPE support, and a random noise-fueled LFO
- Generative polyphonic arpeggiator to inspire melodic ideas
- Expressive XY Pad macros for oscillator and filter sections for dynamic performance control
- Custom effects including delay, reverb, and character effects to sculpt sound and spatial dimensions
- Over 300 presets for oscillators, filters, LFOs, and effects
- Fully scalable user interface with dark and light themes
- Available as standalone and plugin formats: AudioUnit, AAX, VST2, VST3 on macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon) and Windows
Design Philosophy
MAP is designed as a "sound design playground" rather than a preset-driven instrument. It encourages exploration with a modular approach where modulation destinations are pre-patched and accessible via a modulation matrix, allowing rapid and flexible sound sculpting without patch cables.
The instrument focuses on movement, color, space, and time, delivering organic unpredictability and immersive sonic landscapes suited for leads, textures, and ambient soundscapes.
Compatibility and System Requirements
- macOS 10.15 or newer, Intel or Apple Silicon, minimum 4GB RAM
- Windows 7 or newer, minimum 4GB RAM and CPU at least 1 GHz
