Virtual synthesizer for creating innovative pluck sounds with layered synthesis, built-in effects, arpeggiator, and modulation options

Overview

WirePluck is a virtual synthesizer developed by Rob Papen, designed to create new and inspiring pluck sounds rather than recreating real acoustic instruments. It features a multilayer synthesis architecture with a choice of four distinct synthesis types per layer.

Features and Capabilities

  • Three layers each with selectable synthesis types: Wire (a new sound source with a wire-like tone), String (using custom Karplus physical modelling synthesis), FM (3-Operator phase modulation synthesis with unique pitch envelope decay control), and Wave (a one-oscillator subtractive synthesizer with multiple filter types).
  • Each layer can be combined with its own output routing for sound design flexibility.
  • Built-in effects include various distortion types, modulation effects such as chorus and flanger, stereo delay, and a high-quality reverb.
  • Comprehensive arpeggiator and chord memory section.
  • Extensive modulation matrix and a ribbon controller for expressive play.
  • Preset bank manager with numerous presets from Rob Papen and other sound designers.

User Interface

The main screen provides quick access to important parameters, arpeggiator presets, and an advanced screen where all parameters can be finely tuned.
