Overview
Melodrumatic is an audio plugin that uses pitch-shifting via delay, leveraging the Doppler effect, to transform unpitched audio into melodies. The plugin can be controlled through MIDI or mouse input.
Supported Formats and Platforms
The plugin is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. Supported plugin formats include VST3, Audio Unit (AU), and AAX. Additionally, Melodrumatic can be integrated as an effect in Unity projects.
Installation and Usage
Users download the plugin as a zip file, then place the individual files into the appropriate folders depending on their system and DAW. Installation paths for Mac and Windows are specified for each plugin format. In a DAW, Melodrumatic is added as an effect on the desired audio or MIDI track. A separate MIDI track routes MIDI signals to the Melodrumatic plugin track, enabling pitch-shift control. External MIDI controllers can also be assigned for live control.
For Unity, Melodrumatic is added as an effect on the target Audio Mixer. Parameters can be exposed for scripting control, noting that parameter normalization requires rescaling for some functions like Delay Time.
Additional Information
The plugin has been tested in Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, and REAPER. The developer offers support and encourages sharing creative results. The source code is available on GitHub, promoting openness and community involvement.
