Digital-analog modeling delay plugin emulating analog sample clock modulation for creative delay and modulation effects on Mac, Windows, and Linux

Summary

Integer is a digital-analog modeling delay plugin available for Mac, Windows, and Linux. It features a unique delay engine using variable sample rate technology, emulating analog "bucket bridge device" chips to produce varied delay times by changing its internal sample clock speed.

Features

  • Digital-analog delay model with variable sample rate design and multiple buffer size options
  • Extremely wide clock range from hundreds of Hz to tens of MHz, allowing diverse audio resolution and character
  • Optional tempo synchronization for delay time and modulation generator
  • Input low-pass and high-pass filters adjustable by the user
  • Four output interpolation algorithms with varying resolution
  • Bipolar feedback loop capable of endless amplification with a brick-wall limiter to prevent overload
  • Modulation generator with adjustable frequency, amplitude drift, stereo phase offset, and optional tempo sync
  • One-pole lag filters on continuous parameters for smooth and click-free adjustment
  • Supports mono to mono, mono to stereo, and stereo to stereo channel configurations

Functionality

Integer's delay time is modulated by varying the speed of a sample clock, similar to analog devices, creating elastic and tape-like pitch glide effects during delay changes without affecting the feedback loop contents. The feedback system features amplification and filtering combined with a limiter, allowing signal loops to persist endlessly through filters and the variable sample rate buffer. This design enables a wide range of effects including delay, chorus, flanger, filtering, sample rate manipulation, and creating loops or drones.

Supported Platforms and Formats

  • MacOS: AU, VST3, AAX for macOS 10.13 or newer, supporting Apple Silicon and Intel (64-bit)
  • Windows: VST3, AAX for Windows 8.1 or newer supporting Intel and AMD (64-bit)
  • Linux: VST3 for Linux 2020 or newer supporting Intel and AMD (64-bit)

Usage

Integer can be used in various digital audio workstations that support the mentioned plugin formats to apply complex delay-based effects with analog character emulation and fine control over modulation, filtering, and feedback behavior.
